Cold-rolled coils are a steel product produced by applying plastic deformation to hot-rolled steel on cold-rolling mills. With such processing, the product can have more accurate dimensional tolerances, better surface quality and improved mechanical properties as compared with hot-rolled coils. Cold rolling is also used to make thinner coils than hot-rolling mills can currently produce (less than 0.8-1.0 mm).
JIS G3103 is the Japanese standard boiler vessel steel, which is widely used in petroleum, chemical industry, power stations, boilers and other industries, boiler and pressure vessel manufacturing, etc. This kind of vessel steel coil not only has very high strength but also has remarkable toughness, wear resistance, fatigue resistance, impact resistance, corrosion resistance, as well as easy processing and molding properties. It is mostly used in the boiler and petrochemical container manufacturing industry.

Cold Rolled Steel Coil

Benefits of Cold Rolled Steel
Compared to hot rolled steel, cold rolled steel offers a variety of advantages, such as:
Greater strength: Cold rolled steel can exhibit strength up to 20% greater than that of hot rolled steels, which makes it more suitable for use in high-stress applications.
Better surface finishes: Parts and products made from cold rolled steels generally have a smooth and shiny surface that is free of rust and scale.
Higher precision: Unlike hot rolled steels, cold rolled steels does not shrink after the forming process. This quality allows for the creation of highly precise components that require little to no secondary processing.
Applications of Cold Rolled Steel
Cold rolled steel is often used for applications that require tighter tolerances and better surface finishes. Typical parts and products include:
- Aerospace structures
- Home appliances
- Metal furniture
- Strips, rods, bars, and sheets
- Mechanical Components
