What Is electro galvanised steel sheet?
Electro galvanized steel is a type of steel that is coated with zinc for protection through the electroplating process. The zinc coating is applied to the cold-rolled steel at a low temperature. So EG steel is also known as cold galvanized steel. Through electrolytic galvanizing, it finally forms a uniform and dense zinc layer on the steel surface but still keeps the mechanical properties of the material. EG steel plate is often sold in coil or sheet form. EG coil is a kind of material, which can be sheared, slit, and profiled for other uses. The coil weight usually ranges from 3 to 8 tons. While EG steel sheet is a kind of finished or semi-finished product. You can use it directly or further process it for other uses.

Electrogalvanizing steel is a process that bonds a layer of zinc to the steel to prevent corrosion. EGI steel plates are made by electroplating a pure zinc coating on one or both sides of a carbon steel plate. This continuous electrolytic coating process can be used to apply coatings to the surface of steel plates with exceptionally uniform thickness.
Specification A-879 covers zinc coatings applied to hot-rolled and cold-rolled steel sheets by an electrolytic process. The coating provides a smooth, glitter-free surface. Coated steel sheets can be commercial quality steel, drawn quality steel, special killed steel, structural (physical) quality steel or high strength low alloy steel.

Electro galvanized sheet metal main feature:
1. Good corrosion resistance, fine and even bonding, and difficult for corrosive gases or liquids to enter the interior.
2. Because the zinc layer is relatively pure, it is not easily corroded in acid and alkali environments. Effectively protect the steel body for a long time.
3. After passivation with chromic acid, it can be made into various colors. Can be selected according to customer preference. Galvanizing is both beautiful and decorative.
4. The galvanized layer has good ductility and is not easy to fall off during various bending, handling, and impact processes.

Electro-galvanizing Methods:
1.Cyanide galvanizing
Because cyanide is highly toxic, environmental protection puts forward strict restrictions on the use of cyanide in electroplating zinc, and continuously promotes the development of reducing and replacing cyanide electroplating baths, requiring the use of low-cyanide (or micro-cyanide) plating baths. But after electroplating with this process, the product quality is good.
2.Zincate galvanizing
This process is evolved from cyanide zinc plating. Zincate zinc plating, which is an alkaline additive, has a pH of 12.5~13. Using this process, the coating lattice structure is columnar, with good corrosion resistance.
3.Chloride galvanizing
This process is widely used in the electroplating industry, and zinc can be substituted for chromium after passivation.
4.Sulfate galvanizing
This process is suitable for continuous galvanizing and has low cost.
