Pipe Fittings are threaded connectors used in plumbing and piping, to join fittings, pipes, and other components. They are also known as NPT Fittings, threaded plumbing fittings and a SS Pipe Fitting. There are many pipe fitting types the most common of which include hose barbs, various pipe nipples, threaded couplings and unions, various angled elbow fittings and Tees, threaded reducers, pipe flanges, and the sealing plugs and caps. All these different types of stainless steel threaded fittings allow one to adapt connections, change directions and join components together. These stainless Steel NPT fittings have tapered threads that ensure a secure and leak-proof connection when threaded together. These fittings have either male threads or female threads, which enable them to be screwed onto or into the corresponding threads of pipes and fittings. To install Thread the Male NPT thread into the corresponding Female NPT thread, or the Female NPT Thread onto a Male NPT thread of the same size. A stainless pipe fitting is sized according to the size of the thread it will connect with. So a 1" NPT fitting will connect with a 1" thread.
