The disadvantages of this series of materials are: less than 18% chromium content and the low nickel content do not balance the formation of ferrite, for which the chromium content in the 200 series stainless steel is reduced to 13.5% to 15%, some The situation dropped to 13% to 14%, and its corrosion resistance could not be compared with 304 and other similar steels. In addition, manganese, and in some cases copper, reduce the effect of passivation under the acidic conditions common in the corrosion sites of the deposition zone and crevices. The destruction rate of 200 series steel under these conditions is approximately 10-100 times that of 304 stainless steel. The residual sulfur and carbon content in these steels are often not controlled during production, and the material cannot be traced back to the source, even in material recycling.
