DX51D
DX51D is a common hot-dip galvanized steel grade. According to the EN 10346:2015 standard, it is classified as commercial-grade galvanized steel sheet in the European standard. Below is a detailed description of it:
Meaning: "DX" stands for hot-dip galvanizing, "51" indicates the material's minimum yield strength, and "D" refers to its suitability for deep drawing.
Chemical Composition: Carbon (C) content ≤ 0.12%, manganese (Mn) content ≤ 0.60%, phosphorus (P) content ≤ 0.10%, sulfur (S) content ≤ 0.045%.
Mechanical Properties: Yield strength (Rp0.2) 140-300 MPa, tensile strength (Rm) 270-500 MPa, elongation (A80mm) ≥ 22%. Galvanized Coating Characteristics: The zinc coating on both sides typically ranges from 40-275g/m². This coating not only provides excellent corrosion protection but also ensures good weldability and paint adhesion. In standard salt spray tests, DX51D exhibits a corrosion life 5-10 times longer than that of ordinary cold-rolled steel.
Applications: Due to its excellent corrosion resistance, formability, and surface quality, DX51D is widely used in the automotive, construction, and home appliance industries. For example, in automotive manufacturing, it can be used for body panels and interior trim; in construction, it can be used for roofing, exterior siding, doors, and windows; and in the home appliance industry, it can be used for refrigerator bases, housings, and washing machine casings.
