API 5L Galvanized Pipe

API 5L Galvanized pipes produce an alloy layer by reacting molten metal with an iron substrate, thereby bonding the substrate and coating together. Galvanizing is the process of first pickling steel pipes. In order to remove iron oxide from the surface of the steel pipes, after pickling, they are cleaned in an ammonium chloride or zinc chloride aqueous solution or a mixture of ammonium chloride and zinc chloride aqueous solution tank, and then sent to a hot-dip plating tank.

Galvanizing has the advantages of uniform coating, strong adhesion, and long service life. The hot-dip galvanized steel pipe substrate undergoes complex physical and chemical reactions with the molten plating solution, forming a corrosion-resistant and tightly structured zinc iron alloy layer. The alloy layer is integrated with the pure zinc layer and the steel pipe substrate, so its corrosion resistance is strong.

Production steps

The process flow is as follows: black tube - alkaline washing - water washing - acid washing - rinsing with clean water - soaking agent - drying - hot-dip galvanizing - external blowing - internal blowing - air cooling - water cooling - passivation - water rinsing - inspection - weighing - storage.

Rust removal method
1. Firstly, use solvents to clean the surface of the steel to remove organic matter from the surface,
2. Then use a tool to remove rust (wire brush), remove loose or tilted scales, rust, welding slag, etc,
3. Use acid washing method.
Galvanization is divided into hot plating and cold plating. Hot plating is less prone to rusting, while cold plating is more prone to rusting.
