GNEE supplys 410 stainless steel coil to ASTM A240, thickness 0.025-8.0 mm, width 3-2000 mm, with cut-to-length service and surfaces from 2B and BA to mirror, hairline, NO.4 and embossed. 410 is a hardenable martensitic grade (Cr 11.5-13.5%) suited to knives, shafts, pumps and valves. Confirm hardness, heat-treatment state and MOQ with GNEE STEEL.
410 stainless steel coil
410 stainless steel coil is the entry-grade martensitic stainless steel, valued by buyers who need hardness, wear resistance and moderate corrosion resistance at a lower cost than the 300 series. With a minimum chromium around 11.5-13.5% and a carbon level near the low end of the 0.08-0.15% band, 410 can be hardened by heat treatment to reach high strength and surface hardness, which is why it appears in cutlery, pump shafts, valves and compressor parts.
As a martensitic grade it is magnetic and less corrosion resistant than 304 or 316, but its combination of strength and price makes it the default where the part is not exposed to aggressive chemicals or seawater. We supply 410 coil across a very wide size range and a long list of surface finishes, with customization on size, shape and finish.

Applications
Because 410 can be heat-treated to high hardness, it is the standard choice for parts that slide, cut or wear: knife blades, scissors, surgical instruments, spring pins, bolts and bushings. In fluid handling it becomes pump shafts, valve bodies and compressor components that need strength more than acid resistance. The oil and gas sector uses it for fractionating structures and downhole hardware where moderate corrosion resistance is acceptable. Cement, power and generator industries specify it for wear parts.
Note the trade-off: 410 welds less freely than austenitic grades and its corrosion resistance drops in chloride or marine environments, so it should not be specified where 316L would normally be required. For decorative or hygienic surfaces the mirror and hairline finishes give a clean look at modest cost.
Procurement & Ordering
When quoting 410 coil, tell us the required temper or hardness, thickness and width, surface finish, and whether you need annealed (soft, formable) or hardened condition. We offer customization on dimensions, shapes and finishes and can cut to length. The wide width range (up to 2000 mm) supports both narrow strip users and wide panel fabricators.
Lead time and MOQ depend on gauge and finish; confirm when you order because stainless prices track alloy costs. We provide mill test certificates and can arrange inspection. Payment is typically T/T with deposit and balance against B/L, or L/C at sight, with shipment from Tianjin. Free samples are available; the buyer covers courier cost.
FAQ
Q: Is 410 good for knives?
A: Yes, 410 is widely used for knife blades due to its hardenability, though it is not the most corrosion-resistant choice for marine use.
Q: How does 410 differ from 304?
A: 410 is martensitic, hardenable and magnetic with lower corrosion resistance; 304 is austenitic, non-hardenable and more corrosion resistant. Pick by environment and hardness need.
Q: Can 410 be welded?
A: It can be welded with care and usually needs pre/post-heat for hardened sections; confirm welding procedure with GNEE STEEL.
Q: What surfaces do you offer?
A: 2B, BA, NO.4, mirror, hairline, embossed and more; specify the decorative or functional finish.
Q: What is the thickness range?
A: 0.025-8.0 mm, with cut-to-length available.
Q: Do you provide mill certificates?
A: Yes, MTC provided; third-party inspection on request.
