ASTM A924 is a standard specification for general requirements for hot-dip galvanized metal-coated steel coils. These steel sheets are delivered in coils or cut lengths and are usually used in applications requiring corrosion resistance.
According to the product standard terms, ASTM A924 galvanized steel sheets can be divided into various types, such as A, B, C type commercial grade steel sheets (CS), forming grade steel sheets (FS), stamping grade steel sheets (DS), deep drawing grade steel sheets (DDS), extra deep drawing grade steel sheets (EDDS), high temperature steel sheets (HTS), structural grade steel sheets (SS) and high strength low alloy steel sheets (HSLAS).
It can be produced with a variety of metal coatings, including zinc or zinc-iron alloy coatings, zinc-5% aluminum alloy coatings, 55% aluminum-zinc alloy coatings, aluminum coatings, lead-tin alloy (Terne) coatings, and zinc-aluminum-magnesium alloy coatings.
