Color Retention: Excellent; resistant to fading and discoloration.
Anti-Chalking: Excellent; the coating surface will not chalk or peel off due to prolonged sunlight exposure.
Working Principle: PVDF coatings typically use over 70% PVDF resin combined with 30% high-quality pigments (such as inorganic ceramic pigments), cured through high-temperature baking to form an extremely strong and durable protective film.

2.How effective is HDP (high weather-resistant polyester) coating?
Performance Description: It can be considered an upgraded version of ordinary polyester (PE). By using more weather-resistant resins and more stable pigments, its UV resistance is significantly better than ordinary polyester, approaching the level of PVDF, but at a lower cost.

Gloss Retention: Typically 10-15 years.

4.How effective is SMP (silicone-modified polyester) coating?
Performance Description: SMP generally has better UV resistance than ordinary PE, but may be slightly lower than HDP. Its main advantages are excellent hardness and abrasion resistance, and strong stain resistance.

5.How to assess and judge UV resistance?
Accelerated Aging Tests
Xenon Lamp Aging Test: Simulates full-spectrum sunlight and rain erosion. Results are typically expressed in hours; for example, >1000 hours indicates gloss retention >90%. PVDF coatings can typically reach thousands of hours.
QUV Ultraviolet Aging Test: Primarily simulates UV damage. Results are also expressed in hours.
Note: Test hours cannot be directly converted to actual service life, but they can serve as an important basis for comparing the performance of different products. Higher test hours indicate better weather resistance.
Warranty Period
Responsible manufacturers offer clear warranties for their products. For example:
PE coating: May have a 5-10 year warranty.
HDP coating: May have a 10-15 year warranty.
PVDF coating: May have a 20-25 year warranty or even longer.
Warranty coverage typically includes "no chalking, no peeling, and no color difference exceeding ΔE value".
The Impact of Color Choice
Light colors (e.g., white, light gray): Reflect most sunlight and ultraviolet rays, absorb less heat and light energy, thus aging more slowly and having a longer lifespan.
Dark colors (e.g., dark blue, coffee, dark green): Absorb a large amount of light and heat, keeping the coating at a higher temperature for extended periods, accelerating the resin's aging process, resulting in more noticeable fading and performance degradation. For dark-colored projects, it is strongly recommended to choose a higher-grade coating (e.g., PVDF).
