Is the coating of color-coated coil paint?

1.How does the coating differ in composition from traditional paint?

Ingredients: Color-coated coil coatings are based on resin (such as polyester, fluorocarbon, etc.), with added pigments, fillers, additives (curing agents, stabilizers, etc.), and no volatile organic solvents (or very little); traditional paints are based on resin and contain a large amount of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), such as diluents and solvents.

2.What is the difference between coating and traditional paint in production process?

Production process: Industrial continuous coating of color-coated coil coating: After degreasing and phosphating, the substrate is evenly coated by a roller coater, and then cured by high-temperature baking (200-300℃). The coating thickness is precisely controllable (5-30μm); traditional paint is applied by hand or mechanical brushing/spraying, cured at room temperature or low temperature, and the coating thickness is uneven (usually more than 50μm), requiring multiple construction passes

3.How does the coating differ in performance from traditional paint?

Performance: Color-coated coils have strong adhesion (closely bonded to the substrate, not easy to fall off), weather resistance (anti-ultraviolet, acid and alkali resistance), excellent corrosion resistance, and a certain degree of flexibility (adapt to slight deformation of the substrate); traditional paints have weak adhesion (especially on metal surfaces), poor weather resistance (easy to fade, powder), and thick coatings are prone to cracking.

4.How does coating differ from traditional paint in terms of usage?

Color-coated coil coating is specially designed for metal substrates (steel plates, aluminum plates), and is used for color-coated steel plates, home appliance shells, etc., taking into account both protection and decoration; traditional paint is suitable for a variety of substrates (wood, wall, metal, etc.), mainly for decoration and basic protection

5.What are the main types of color coated coil coatings?

Polyester coating (PE)
High cost performance, suitable for indoor or outdoor use in dry areas (such as factory walls), medium weather resistance (5-8 years).
Silicon modified polyester coating (SMP)
Better weather resistance than PE, strong scratch resistance, suitable for medium corrosion environment (such as urban buildings).
Fluorocarbon coating (PVDF)
Based on fluorocarbon resin, it has the best weather resistance and corrosion resistance (UV resistance, acid and alkali resistance, salt spray resistance), suitable for harsh environments such as seaside and industrial areas, and the service life can reach 15-20 years.
High weather resistance polyester coating (HDP)
The performance is between PE and PVDF, with a weather resistance of 8-12 years, and the cost is lower than fluorocarbon coating, suitable for humid or mildly corrosive environments.
