Galvanized Pipe Applications
The core application of galvanized pipe (including galvanized steel pipe and galvanized rectangular pipe) is to transport fluids or construct structural frameworks in environments requiring corrosion protection. Leveraging the corrosion-resistant properties of the galvanized coating, it is widely used in a variety of fields, including construction, industry, and agriculture.
1. Fluid Transportation: Core Solution: "Rust-Proof + Pressure Resistance" Requirements
This is the most traditional application of galvanized pipe, primarily used to transport fluids such as water and gas, with a focus on preventing internal rust contamination and external corrosion that could cause leaks.
Water Supply and Drainage Systems
Applications: Indoor and outdoor water pipes in buildings, residential/factory drainage pipes, and rural water supply renovation projects.
Advantages: Compared to ordinary black iron pipes, the galvanized coating isolates water from the iron, preventing rust and blockage on the inner pipe wall and corrosion and leaks on the outer pipe wall, extending its service life from 5-8 years to 15-20 years.
Note: PPR pipes are gradually being replaced by PPR pipes for indoor cold water pipes in homes. However, galvanized pipes are still the primary choice for outdoor applications with long-term exposure or pressure, such as buried pipes and municipal pipe networks. Gas/Compressed Air Transportation
Applications: Compressed air piping in industrial workshops and low-pressure gas manifolds in some cities (mostly galvanized steel pipes).
Requirements: Thickened galvanized pipes with a wall thickness of 3mm or greater must be selected to ensure pressure resistance (for example, compressed air pressures often reach 0.6-1.0 MPa). The galvanizing layer must be uniform to prevent localized corrosion that could lead to gas leaks.
II. Structural Construction: Core Solutions for "Rust Prevention + Load-Bearing" Requirements
This application primarily utilizes galvanized rectangular and square pipes, leveraging the cross-sectional stability and corrosion resistance of the pipes to construct various frame structures, particularly suitable for outdoor or humid environments.
Outdoor Advertising and Signage
Applications: Main frames for large roadside billboards, shop sign keels, and brackets for residential/park signage. For example, a 10-square-meter outdoor inkjet billboard typically uses 50×70mm or 60×80mm galvanized rectangular tubing with a wall thickness of 2.5-3mm (inland areas) or 3-4mm (coastal areas). This tubing can support the weight of the image while also resisting wind and rain erosion.
Architectural and Decorative Structures
Common Applications:
Lightweight steel structures, such as sunroom frames, awning supports, and balcony railings (mostly galvanized square tubing, which can be further sprayed with plastic for aesthetic purposes).
Temporary Structures: Temporary construction site fences and columns and beams for prefabricated buildings require lightweight tubing that withstands the humid conditions of the construction site.
Indoor Decoration: Shopping mall shelves and exhibition hall booth frames sometimes use thin-walled galvanized tubing (1.5-2mm thick) for both aesthetics and rust resistance.
Agricultural and Livestock Facilities
Applications: Greenhouse frames (mostly 20-32mm Φ galvanized steel tubing), farm fences, and feed trough supports. Advantages: Agricultural environments are humid (such as greenhouse irrigation and farm flushing), and galvanized pipes prevent rust. They are also cheaper than stainless steel pipes and suitable for large-scale installations.

III. Industrial and Specialty Applications: Customized to Meet Scenario Needs

Machinery Manufacturing

Applications: Supports and guardrails for machinery and equipment (such as machine tool enclosures and conveyor frames), and drive shaft sleeves for small machinery (requiring smooth inner galvanized steel pipe).

Requirements: Wall thickness should be selected based on the load capacity and operating environment of the equipment. For example, heavy machinery guardrails typically use 4-5mm thick galvanized pipe, while lightweight equipment supports can use 2-3mm.

Transportation and Municipal Facilities

Applications: Road barriers (mostly galvanized square pipe with a plastic-coated surface), bus stop frames, and light pole base support pipes.

Features: These are exposed to the outdoors for extended periods, needing to withstand vehicle impact (for barrier barriers) and wind and rain erosion. Therefore, hot-dip galvanized pipe (with a thick zinc layer and strong corrosion resistance) is often used, with a wall thickness generally ≥3mm.
