Building steel structures (factories, supports), mechanical parts (bolts, bushings), transportation (vehicle frames), guardrails, pipelines, etc.
Can it be used for pressure vessels?
Not recommended. Insufficient toughness and pressure resistance. Pressure vessels should use Q345/Q355 or special-purpose pressure vessel steel.
Can it be used in low-temperature environments?
Q235A/B is not suitable for low-temperature environments. Q235C is suitable for around 0℃, and Q235D is suitable for -20℃ and below.
Key differences between Q235 and Q355?
Material: Q235 is carbon steel, Q355 is low-alloy steel;
Strength: Q355 yield strength ≥355MPa, approximately 50% higher than Q235;
Application: Q235 is suitable for general structures, Q355 is suitable for heavy-duty/large-span structures.
Cost and economy?
Q235 has a lower unit price than Q355 and lower processing costs, making it suitable for mass production and general applications. For high-strength applications, using Q355 can reduce the amount of steel used, resulting in a better overall cost.
