Q:What do SECC stand for?
A:S: stands for Steel;
E: stands for Electrolytic Galvanizing;
C: stands for Cold-rolled;
The second C: stands for Commercial quality (i.e. general use)

Q:What are the advantages of SECC?
A:Excellent surface quality: The coating is uniform and smooth, without zinc flowers or rough particles common in hot-dip galvanized sheets, suitable for precision painting, printing or electroplating (such as nickel plating, chrome plating).
Good processing performance: The substrate is a cold-rolled sheet with moderate hardness (hardness value is about 60-90HRB), good stamping, bending and welding performance, suitable for complex shape processing (such as home appliance housings, electronic accessories).
Low cost :The energy consumption of electrogalvanizing process is lower than that of hot-dip galvanizing, and the coating is thinner, which has more cost advantages.

Q:What are the limitations of SECC?
A:Weak corrosion resistance: The coating is thin, and the salt spray resistance test is usually only 50-200 hours (hot-dip galvanized sheet can reach more than 500 hours). It is easy to rust if exposed to moisture or acid-base environment for a long time, and is more suitable for indoor or dry environment.
Welding precautions: The zinc layer is easily evaporated by heat during welding, which may cause pores or weld embrittlement. It is necessary to control the welding parameters or grind off the coating of the welding part in advance.

Q:What are the classifications of SECC by surface treatment?
A:SECC: Ordinary electro-galvanized sheet, no special surface treatment (subsequent painting is required).
SECC-P5: Phosphate-treated sheet, zinc phosphate film is formed on the surface to enhance the adhesion of the coating, used for primer before painting.
SECC-C5: Chromate passivated sheet (rainbow color or colorless), with improved corrosion resistance, suitable for direct use or simple painting.
SECC-N5: Chromium-free passivated sheet, environmentally friendly, silver-white surface, used for export or scenes with high environmental protection requirements.
Q:What are the application scenarios of SECC?
A:Household appliances: refrigerator, air conditioner, washing machine shell, microwave oven liner, etc. (need to spray color coating on the surface).
Electronics and automotive accessories: computer cases, server cabinets (using the characteristics of smooth surface and easy processing); automotive interior parts (such as instrument panel brackets, wiring harness fixings).
Furniture and decoration: office furniture panels, filing cabinets, shelves (need to be matched with painting or lamination). Lightweight structural parts: indoor partitions, ceiling keels (used in dry environment).
