2.What effect do thickness and structure have on sound insulation?
Thickness influence: Thicker color-coated coils (such as more than 1mm) have slightly better sound insulation than ultra-thin ones (less than 0.3mm), but the improvement is very limited. Even if the thickness increases, the inherent high conductivity of the steel plate still cannot effectively block sound waves.
Single structural defects: Pure color-coated coils are usually single-layer flat structures, lacking the porous, loose or multi-layer composite structure required for sound insulation (such as the porous sound absorption of sound insulation cotton and the buffering effect of the air layer), and cannot reduce noise through the combination of "sound absorption + sound insulation".

3.How is the sound insulation performance of color coated coils in actual applications?
In actual scenarios (such as building exterior walls, roofs, equipment housings, etc.), color-coated coils, if used alone, have almost no effective sound insulation effect:
When used in building envelope structures, if only color-coated coils are used as panels, external noise (such as wind noise, vehicle noise) will easily penetrate, and even amplify the noise due to resonance.
If used with other materials (such as composite panels with rock wool and polyurethane as the core layer), the sound insulation effect mainly depends on the sound absorption/sound insulation ability of the core layer, and the color-coated coils are only used as a protective layer, and their own contribution to sound insulation is minimal.
