1.What are the characteristics and uses of cold-rolled low-carbon steel?

Description: The most basic and commonly used base material. It is a cold-rolled low-carbon steel sheet with a smooth surface, but it lacks rust resistance.

• Features:

◦ Low cost and good formability (easy to stamp and bend).

◦ Rust prevention relies on a complete coating; once the coating is damaged, the base material will corrode rapidly.

• Main Applications: Home appliances (refrigerator, washing machine, microwave oven liners), office furniture, server racks, lighting fixtures, and other products used in dry indoor environments.

2.What are the characteristics and uses of hot-dip galvanized steel?

Description: A zinc coating is applied to the surface of a cold-rolled steel substrate to form sacrificial anode protection. This is the most mainstream and common substrate for color-coated steel coils used in construction.

Features:

Excellent rust resistance. The zinc layer corrodes before the steel sheet, thus protecting it.

Good processability, balancing strength and corrosion resistance.

Slightly more expensive than cold-rolled steel, but offers excellent value for money.

Main Applications: Roofing and walls of steel structure factories and warehouses, ventilation ducts, prefabricated houses, mobile homes, and other building envelope systems.

3.What are the characteristics and uses of hot-dip aluminum-zinc coated steel?

Description: A steel substrate coated with an alloy layer containing 55% aluminum, 43.4% zinc, and 1.6% silicon.

Features:

Corrosion resistance is 2-6 times higher than hot-dip galvanized steel, especially in high-temperature and humid environments.

Good heat resistance (withstands temperatures up to 300°C) and heat reflectivity.

Better cut protection than pure galvanized steel.

Main Applications: Building roofs, automotive exhaust pipes, ovens, barbecue grills, heat-resistant equipment, etc., where higher corrosion resistance is required.

4.What are the characteristics and uses of electro-galvanized steel?

Description: A thin, uniform zinc coating is applied to the surface of cold-rolled steel via electrolysis.

Features:

The surface is very uniform, smooth, and fine, making it ideal for fine surface coating.

The zinc coating is thinner, resulting in lower corrosion resistance compared to hot-dip galvanizing, but better weldability.

The cost is generally higher than hot-dip galvanizing.

Main Applications: High-end appliance panels, computer cases, automotive body parts, office furniture, and other products requiring high-quality surface finishes.

5.What are the characteristics and uses of aluminum sheets/aluminum alloy sheets?

Description: Uses aluminum or aluminum alloy as the base material.

Features:

Lightweight, with a density approximately 1/3 that of steel.

Excellent corrosion resistance; forms a dense protective alumina film.

Easy to process and highly malleable.

Higher cost than steel plates.

Main Applications: Roofing and curtain walls of large public buildings such as airports and stadiums; aluminum composite panel panels; transportation (vehicle interior); outdoor signage, etc.
