What is galvanizing?
Galvanizing is the process of forcing aluminum and zinc to react electrochemically on the surface of steel to form an alloy coating. This coating has strong anti-corrosion, aesthetic and weather resistance.
What are the anti-corrosion properties and advantages of galvanizing?
Galvanizing has high corrosion resistance, heat resistance and weather resistance, and is not easy to deform in sunlight and humid environments. In addition, it also has good decorative and conductive properties and is a widely used material.
Galvanized steel coils will not rust when soaked in water. Alu-zinc-plated material, referred to as AZ150, has an anti-corrosion performance 2-6 times that of galvanizing. When galvanized material is exposed to the air for a long time, even if the surface is corroded by chemicals, a layer of aluminum protective film can be formed to separate the external chemicals from the material itself, thereby protecting the material from corrosion and preventing rust. This physical reaction makes the galvanized material have excellent corrosion resistance, and can maintain stability and durability for a long time in harsh environments.
How to effectively prevent galvanized rust?
1. The surface of the steel must be intact: avoid surface scratches and damage, and use reliable quality materials.
2. Pay attention to environmental conditions: avoid exposing the steel to environments containing chemicals such as acids, alkalis, and salts, so as to better ensure the integrity of the coating.
3. Regular maintenance: For aluminum-zinc products that have been used for a period of time, regular inspection and maintenance are required to remove dust and debris on the surface of the steel in a timely manner.
GNEE currently has two hot-dip galvanizing lines with a designed annual production capacity of 450,000 tons. The product thickness ranges from 0.3-2.0mm and the width ranges from 700-1250mm. The product types mainly include cold forming and structural use, which can be widely used in construction, home appliance industrial instruments, automobiles and other industries.
