The development of hot-dip galvanizing production in our country has been lagging behind. From the 1950s to the 1960s, 13 sheet steel flux hot dip galvanizing units were built successively, with a capacity of 100,000 t/a, but due to low output, high cost, poor quality, environmental pollution, poor economic benefits and other defects, they have been stopped and transferred. From the end of the 1970s, China began to build large-scale broadband hot-dip galvanizing units.
Hot-dip galvanized strip steel is always in short supply in our market. Since the mid-1990s, about 800,000 to 1 million tons have been imported from abroad every year. With the development of the domestic economy, especially the development of automobiles, home appliances and the construction industry, the demand for galvanized strip steel has also increased greatly. In the past two decades, China has built a batch of production lines with an annual output of more than 100,000 t, but from the process flow, equipment composition to product varieties are low-level traditional technology hot-dip galvanizing units, in the quality and quantity of varieties can not meet the needs of China's economic construction and development, still need to build a new hot-dip galvanizing line to meet market needs.
Since the 1990s, the production of galvanized steel plate in China has made great progress, and the domestic processing capacity of galvanized plate has reached nearly 3 million t. The market share of domestic galvanized sheet increased rapidly, from about 27% in 1996 to about 59% in 1998. The main domestic manufacturers are Baosteel, Wuhan Iron and Steel, Panzhihua Iron and Steel, Handan Iron and Steel, Bensteel and other five enterprises with a total production capacity of more than 1.3 million tons.
The main difference between the existing hot-dip galvanized units in China and the foreign level is that most units do not have pre-cleaning equipment, and the quality of the galvanized surface is difficult to guarantee; The existing finishing machine is a relatively simple two-roll finishing machine (four rolls for Pangang), can not better improve the mechanical properties of strip steel, especially the deep drawing performance; The existing varieties are a single galvanized sheet, only a small number of alloyed plates, far from meeting the needs of the market.
