Stainless Steel Sheet Plate
201 and 304 are the two austenitic stainless steels buyers ask about most, and they sit at opposite ends of the cost-versus-corrosion trade-off. 304 is the classic 18/8 grade (about 18% chromium, 8% nickel) with excellent all-round corrosion resistance, formability and weldability - the default for food, architecture and general duty.
201 is a lower-nickel, higher-manganese substitute that keeps a similar look and decent corrosion resistance at a lower price, which is why it is popular for decorative and indoor applications where the environment is mild. We supply both as cold-rolled sheet (0.2-3 mm) and hot-rolled plate (up to 150 mm), in widths 1000-2000 mm, with the full surface range from 2B and BA to NO.4, HL and 8K mirror, and processing services including cutting, bending and welding.

Applications
304 is specified wherever hygiene and corrosion resistance cannot be compromised: food and beverage equipment, kitchenware, architectural cladding, chemical and power plant trim, and boiler-adjacent parts in mild service. Its weldability and clean surface make it the safe default. 201 is chosen for cost-sensitive, mainly indoor or decorative work - shop fittings, elevator panels, appliances and furniture - where the lower nickel content is acceptable because the environment is not aggressive.
For marine or chloride exposure, step up to 316L rather than 201/304. Surface choice follows the final use: 2B for general, BA/8K for decorative mirror, NO.4/HL for brushed look, NO.1 for unpolished structural plate. Matching grade to environment avoids both premature rust and paying for nickel you do not need.
