How is the weldability?
A: Excellent, low carbon content with no hardening tendency; good weldability, no preheating required, compatible with E6013, ER70S-6, and other welding materials.
How is the machinability?
A: Moderate in the soft state (sticky to the tool), improves after spheroidizing annealing; good machinability in the fully hard state, requires carbide tools.
What is the hardness range and adjustability?
A: Soft state HRB 50-60 (HV 105-115), semi-hard HRB 70-80, fully hard HRB 85-95 (HV 240-260).
What about aging?
A: Soft cold-rolled steel exhibits aging (yield plateau reappears after placement, plasticity decreases); this can be eliminated by leveling (elongation ≥1%) or adding Ti/Nb microalloying.
How is the magnetic properties? A: Ferromagnetic, with high permeability and low coercivity; used in motor cores, electromagnetic shielding, and magnetic parts.
