Galvanized Steel Sheet Coil
This material is mainly produced by the continuous hot-dip galvanising process, whereby coils of steel are continuously dipped in a bath of molten zinc to produce galvanised steel sheets. In addition, it can also be alloyed by heating to about 500°C immediately after leaving the bath to create an alloy film of zinc and iron, thereby improving its paint adhesion and weldability.
In terms of market operation, China's galvanized sheet coil market in 2023 was dragged down by the real estate industry and demand performance was mediocre, but due to the low price of raw material hot rolled coil, profit margins of producers were good and capacity utilisation rate was maintained at around 65%.
Nonetheless, prices of different types of galvanized steel sheet in coil (e.g. floral and non-floral) diverged, with the price difference between the two reaching RMB700-800/tonne.
Galvanized Steel Sheet Roll
Galvanized sheet plate is widely used in construction, home appliances, automotive manufacturing, containers, transport and household applications. Due to its excellent corrosion resistance, galvanized steel coil is used to make corrosion-resistant components for open-air use. For example, hot-dip galvanized steel plate has a thicker zinc layer and is suitable for environments where high corrosion resistance is required, while electro galvanized sheet is commonly used for indoor items or as a surface treatment before painting.
