What is Coated Steel Strip?
Coated steel strip refers to a composite material with one or more layers of organic, inorganic or metal coating applied on the surface of metal steel strip (usually cold-rolled or hot-rolled low-carbon steel) to enhance its corrosion resistance, wear resistance, decorative properties or special functions (such as conductivity, heat insulation). It is widely used in construction, home appliances, automobiles, packaging and other industries
According to the different coating materials, it can be divided into the following categories:
Organic coated steel strip
Coating materials: polyester (PE), polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), epoxy resin (Epoxy), acrylic (Acrylic), etc.
Features: rich colors, good weather resistance, customizable texture (such as wood grain, stone grain).
Typical applications:
Color-coated panels (color steel tiles, building curtain walls)
Home appliance panels (refrigerators, washing machines)
Billboards, interior decoration
Metal coated steel strip
Coating materials: zinc (galvanized), aluminum (aluminized), zinc-aluminum alloy (Galvalume®), tin (tinned), etc.
Features: corrosion resistance, good conductivity, partially weldable.
Typical applications:
Galvanized steel strip: cable armor, automotive parts
Aluminized steel strip: exhaust pipes, high temperature resistant parts
Tinned steel strip: food packaging (cans, cans)
Inorganic coated steel strip
Coating materials: porcelain enamel, ceramic coating, etc.
Features: high temperature resistance, chemical corrosion resistance, high hardness.
Typical applications:
Oven liner (enamel steel strip)
Chemical equipment anti-corrosion lining
High temperature chimney
Composite coated steel strip
Coating structure: multi-layer composite (such as "galvanized + organic coating" or "aluminum-zinc alloy + fingerprint-resistant coating").
Features: better overall performance, such as corrosion resistance + beautiful appearance.
Typical applications:
High-end building panels (PVDF coated aluminum-zinc panels)
Automobile body panels (galvanized + electrophoretic paint)
