What is DX51D+Z120 material?
DX51D is a common cold-rolled low-carbon steel, which belongs to the grade in the European standard (EN 10139)
D: Cold rolled
X: No surface treatment
51: Serial number, representing material grade
D: Classified by use, suitable for deep stamping (Drawing quality)
+Z: Hot-dip galvanized.
120: The total weight of the galvanized layer on both sides is 120 g/m² (about 60 g/m² on one side)

Advantages of DX51D+Z120 steel for building roofs
Moderate corrosion resistance:
Z120 coating (120g/m² on both sides) can meet the needs of roofs under general climatic conditions (such as dry, mild and humid environments).
In areas without acid rain and low salinity (such as inland cities), the service life can reach 10~15 years (extended if the surface is oiled or passivated).
Good formability:
The base material (DX51D) has a high elongation (≥22%) and is suitable for corrugated boards, trapezoidal boards and other common roof sections.
Cost-effectiveness:
Compared with higher zinc layers (such as Z200), Z120 is cheaper and suitable for lightweight roof projects with limited budgets.

How to extend the life of DX51D+Z steel coil?
Surface treatment:
Passivation (ZF): Anti-white rust, suitable for projects with long transportation and storage periods.
Oil coating (ZO): Short-term anti-rust, needs to be cleaned after installation to avoid affecting subsequent painting.
Later maintenance:
Regularly clean fallen leaves and accumulated water, and local rust can be re-coated with zinc-aluminum paint (such as cold-spray zinc)
What is the difference between DX51D+Z and DX53D+AZ?
DX51D+Z (pure zinc coating) is suitable for general forming needs in ordinary environments and has a lower cost; DX53D+AZ (aluminum zinc coating) has stronger corrosion resistance and better formability, and is suitable for harsh environments or complex processing, but it is more expensive.
What is DX51D equivalent to?
Chinese national standard (GB/T 2518-2019)
DC51D (directly equivalent to the 2019 new version)
Approximate old version: DC01 (need to confirm the difference in elongation)
American standard (ASTM A653)
CS Type B (commercial grade, similar mechanical properties)
Japanese standard (JIS G 3141)
SPCC-SD (deep drawing grade cold rolled steel)
Korean standard (KS D 3503)
SPCC-SD (consistent with Japanese standard)
