Why is DX51D steel for construction hot dip galvanized?
Durability: The thick zinc layer of hot-dip galvanizing is more suitable for long-term exposure to rain and ultraviolet rays.
Cost-effectiveness: Although the cost of hot-dip galvanizing is higher than that of electroplating, it has a longer lifespan and lower overall cost.
What is the difference between hot-dip galvanizing and electro-galvanizing?
Hot-dip galvanizing: The steel plate is immersed in molten zinc liquid (about 450°C) to form a thicker zinc layer (such as Z100-Z275), which has strong adhesion and good corrosion resistance.
Electro-galvanizing: Zinc is deposited through electrolytic reaction, the zinc layer is thinner (usually 10-50g/m²), the surface is smoother but the corrosion resistance is weaker, and it is mostly used in scenes with high surface requirements such as home appliances and automotive panels.

Features of hot-dip galvanized coil DX51D
Zinc layer thickness:
Common range is Z100 (100g/m²) to Z275 (275g/m²), much thicker than electro-galvanized.
Surface characteristics:
Spangle may exist, or it can be minimized through process control.
Corrosion resistance:
The zinc layer is thick, suitable for outdoor exposure environments (such as building roofs, steel structures)
What are the applications of DX51D galvanized steel in the construction field?
Lightweight roof:
Corrugated board or trapezoidal board (thickness 0.4~0.8mm) used in factories, warehouses, and agricultural greenhouses, fixed on the purlins after cold bending.
Standing seam board: waterproof roof of large-span buildings (such as airports and exhibition halls), connected by mechanical lock seams, without penetrating fixation.
Features:
Galvanized layer (such as Z120) provides basic rust protection, suitable for dry or mild climate areas.
Exterior wall panel:
Corrugated board or flat board used as the exterior wall of the building, which is both decorative and protective.
It is often combined with insulation materials (rock wool, polyurethane) to form a sandwich panel to improve thermal insulation performance.
Interior wall lining:
It is used for internal partitions of factories and clean rooms, and the surface can be coated with PE/PVDF coating to enhance the appearance.
