Internal and Microscopic: Observe the internal grain structure using a metallographic microscope; use ultrasonic testing to detect internal cracks or inclusions; use eddy current testing to detect surface and near-surface defects.

Steel coil contour inspection: For cold-rolled coils with a thickness ≤3.0mm, there is a dedicated industry standard, YB/T 6020-2022, for accurately inspecting the coil contour to ensure good sheet shape.

Micro-magnetic non-destructive testing: This is a cutting-edge technology. For example, by collecting various magnetic characteristics of the material, models can be used to quickly and non-destructively predict its properties such as yield strength. Studies have shown that this method can achieve a prediction accuracy of over 93% for the mechanical properties of DP590 high-strength steel.

Simulated forming tests: For advanced applications such as automotive sheet metal, very specific simulated tests are conducted, such as ball punch tests to evaluate the adhesion of the galvanized layer, or forming tests simulating the stamping process.
