What is DC01 galvanized steel material?

DC01 galvanized steel is a cold-rolled low-carbon steel plate with a hot-dip galvanized surface. It combines the easy processing of low-carbon steel with the anti-rust ability of the zinc layer. It is widely used in home appliances, construction and general industrial fields.
Galvanizing standards: GB/T 2518 (China), EN 10346 (European standard).
Composition characteristics: low carbon (C≤0.12%), low alloy (Mn≤0.60%), high plasticity.

Zinc layer classification and use

The zinc layer of DC01 galvanized steel is usually divided according to the single-sided zinc coating amount (g/m²)

Zinc layer code

Weight of single-sided zinc layer (g/m²)

Typical home appliance applications

Applicable environment

Z40

40

Internal structural parts of low-end appliances (such as brackets and back panels)

Dry environment, short-term rust prevention

Z60

60

Washing machine shells, refrigerator side panels, microwave oven shells

General humidity environment (home use)

Z80

80

Air conditioner shells, water heater tanks, and some components of dishwashers

High humidity or water vapor contact environment

Z100+

≥100

High-end home appliances (such as dishwasher tanks and washing machine drums)

High humidity, corrosive environment

How to improve the corrosion resistance of DC01?

Upgrade the zinc layer (such as Z120→Z200).
Surface coating (PE/PVDF coating) or switch to galvanized zinc (AZ150)

Can DC01 galvanized steel be welded?
Yes, but the current needs to be controlled (zinc layer evaporation can easily cause pores). Laser welding or gas shielded welding can be used.

DC01 galvanized steel coil surface treatment

The surface treatment of DC01 steel also affects the corrosion resistance and appearance of home appliances.
