 Can SPCC be heat-treated?

A: Generally not quenched (low carbon doesn't harden easily). Annealing (softening) and stress-relief annealing are commonly used to improve machinability.

What's the difference between SPCC and SPHC (hot-rolled)?

A: SPCC (cold-rolled): Bright surface, high precision, good plasticity, high price, thin specifications.
SPHC (hot-rolled): Rough surface, large tolerances, oxide scale, low price, thick specifications.

What's the difference between SPCC and Q235?

A: SPCC: Cold-rolled, low carbon, better plasticity/stamping, lower strength.
Q235: Mostly hot-rolled, slightly higher carbon, higher strength, average formability.

 When to choose SPCC?

A: When high precision, good surface finish, easy cold working, appearance parts, thin sheet metal (home appliances, computers, cabinets, hardware).

When not to choose SPCC? A: Thick plates, high-strength structures, load-bearing components, outdoor untreated (select Q235, Q355 or high-strength steel).
