Products Description

Cold-rolled steel is low-carbon hot-rolled steel that has been rolled at room temperature, below its recrystallization temperature. The steel is then cleaned of oxide scale and finished in a specific series of rolling to just over the desired thickness, heating to controlled temperatures, and final rolling to the desired thickness. This produces steel with a close thickness tolerance (+/-.0015" or better) and a wide range of controlled surface finishes. The process of cold rolling increasing the steel's strength and hardness, while decreasing its ductility. Not only can you achieve improved mechanical properties, cold rolling provides more control over the shape and final dimensions of the product.

Use cold-rolled steel where thickness tolerances and surface conditions have a narrow window for success in your application. As a cold rolled steel coil supplier, we will be glad to help you select the exact grade for your specific needs.

Scope of Application

DC01 can be used for simple forming work, for example Bending, embossing, beading and pulling.

DC03 is suitable for forming requirements like Deep drawing and difficult profiles suitable.

DC04 is suitable for high deformation requirements.

DC05 is a thermal forming grade, it is suitable for higher forming requirements.

DC06 is a grade for special deep drawing, suitable for the higher deformation requirements.

DC07, this superior deep drawing quality is suitable for highest deformation requirements.face in advance when ordering.ng construction, used in cranes or other large machinery that bears high loads.

1. What is cold rolled steel coil, and how does it differ from hot rolled steel?

Cold rolled steel coil is produced by further processing hot rolled steel at room temperature, resulting in a smoother, more precise surface finish, tighter dimensional tolerances, and improved mechanical strength. Unlike hot rolled steel, it does not form an oxide scale, making it ideal for applications requiring high formability and aesthetic appeal.

2. What are the common grades of cold rolled steel coils, such as DC01, DC04, and DC06?

DC01 (St12/St16) is a general-purpose grade for simple forming; DC04 (St14) is a deep-drawing grade for moderate forming applications; DC06 is an extra-deep-drawing grade for complex, high-stretch forming needs. These grades differ in ductility, yield strength, and suitability for stamping and bending processes.

3. What are the typical dimensions and thickness ranges for cold rolled steel coils?

Cold rolled steel coils are commonly available in widths from 1000mm to 1500mm and thicknesses from 0.3mm to 3.0mm, including popular specifications like 0.5mm, 1.0mm, 1.25mm, and 1.5mm. Custom widths and slitting services are also available to meet specific project requirements.

4. What industries use cold rolled steel coils the most?

Cold rolled steel coils are widely used in automotive manufacturing (body panels, structural parts), home appliances (refrigerators, washing machines), construction (metal roofing, wall panels), and general engineering (tubes, profiles, enclosures) due to their excellent formability and surface quality.

5. How does the surface finish of cold rolled steel coil affect its applications?

Cold rolled steel offers several surface finishes, including bright, matte, and skin-passed finishes. Bright finishes are suitable for exposed parts requiring painting or coating, while matte finishes work well for parts with minimal visible requirements, such as structural components.

6. What are the key mechanical properties to consider when choosing cold rolled steel coils?

Key properties include yield strength, tensile strength, elongation, and hardness. For example, DC06 has higher elongation and lower yield strength than DC01, making it better suited for deep drawing processes where high ductility is required.

7. What is the typical packaging for cold rolled steel coils for export?

Export-grade cold rolled steel coils are typically wrapped in anti-rust paper, plastic film, and metal strapping, then secured on wooden or steel pallets to prevent damage during sea or rail transport. Custom packaging solutions are available based on destination and logistics requirements.

8. What delivery terms are available for cold rolled steel coil orders?

GNEE STEEL offers flexible delivery terms, including FOB China, CIF/CFR to major ports (e.g., Mersin, Turkey), and rail transport from China to Iran. We also support door-to-door delivery solutions for clients in the Middle East and Central Asia.

9. Can cold rolled steel coils be customized for specific applications?

Yes. GNEE STEEL provides custom slitting, cutting, and processing services to produce tailored widths, lengths, and surface treatments. We also offer special grades and tolerances to meet unique industry or project specifications.

10. How do you ensure the quality of cold rolled steel coils before shipment?

All GNEE STEEL cold rolled steel coils undergo rigorous quality control, including chemical composition testing, mechanical property verification, dimensional inspection, and surface quality checks. We provide third-party test certificates (e.g., SGS, BV) with every shipment to ensure compliance with international standards.
