What is SGCC?
SGCC stands for hot-dip galvanized cold-rolled steel coil, a type of cold-rolled steel sheet coated with zinc.
What is the origin of the name SGCC?
SGCC is a steel designation in the Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS G 3302), where "S" stands for steel, "G" stands for galvanized, "C" stands for cold-rolled, and "C" stands for commercial use.
What are the main components of SGCC sheet?
The main component is iron (Fe), and the surface coating is primarily zinc (Zn). The carbon (C) content is approximately 0.15%, the silicon (Si) content is 0.05%-0.6%, and the manganese (Mn) content does not exceed 2.0%. It also contains small amounts of trace elements such as aluminum (Al), titanium (Ti), and chromium (Cr).
What is the difference between SGCC and SECC? SGCC is hot-dip galvanized steel sheet with a thicker zinc layer, typically 40-100μm. It offers strong corrosion resistance, but is prone to generating zinc vapor during welding. SECC is electrogalvanized steel sheet with a thinner zinc layer, typically 5-15μm. Its surface is delicate and fingerprint-resistant, but its corrosion resistance is relatively weak.

Performance Characteristics
What is the corrosion resistance of SGCC sheet?

The zinc layer of SGCC sheet effectively isolates the steel from corrosive media, performing exceptionally well in humid or corrosive environments, providing 30-50 years of rust protection.
