What is the material of DC53D+Z steel coil?

DC53D+Z is a high-strength galvanized steel coil, using zinc-iron alloy (Z) coating process, with excellent formability and corrosion resistance, suitable for industrial fields with high strength and surface requirements
DC: Cold rolled substrate (Drawing Quality)
53: Forming grade (medium stamping performance)
D: Hot dip galvanized (Hot Dip Galvanized)
+Z: Zinc coating (Zinc Coated)
Yield strength (YS): ≥340 MPa
Tensile strength (TS): 410~550 MPa
Elongation (El): ≥30% (balanced strength and formability)

What is the difference between DC53D+Z steel and DX51D+Z?

Substrate strength: DC53D substrate is high-strength low-carbon steel (yield strength ≥ 340MPa), which is more suitable for load-bearing structural parts than DX51D (mild steel).
Coating characteristics: Zinc-iron alloy coating (Z) is more resistant to high temperatures than pure zinc coating (such as Zinc), and is not prone to zinc volatilization defects during welding or spraying.

International similar grades

Differences

Substrate Standard

JIS G 3135 (DC53D)

- National Standard: GB/T 5213-2008 (DC54D)

- European Standard: EN 10346 (HX340LAD+Z)

- American Standard: ASTM A1008 (CS Type B)

The performance of the national standard DC54D is similar, but the silicon/aluminum content may be slightly different; the strength of the European standard HX340LAD+Z is matched (yield 340MPa).

Coating Standard

JIS G 3302 (Z coating)

- National standard: GB/T 2518 (ZF coating)

- European standard: EN 10346 (ZMA coating)

- American standard: ASTM A653 (Z275 coating)

Both are zinc-iron alloy coatings with different coating codes (such as national standard ZF = Japanese standard Z).

Can DC53D+Z replace SGCC?

Yes, but SGCC is usually of normal strength (such as SGCC340 corresponds to DX51D+Z). If high strength is required, DC53D+Z must be clearly marked.

DC53D+Z galvanized steel coil is used for?

The yield strength of DC53D+Z galvanized steel coil substrate is ≥340MPa, and it has good stamping performance, which is suitable for structural parts processing. The zinc-iron alloy coating (Z) is more resistant to high-temperature oxidation than ordinary galvanizing, and the coating has strong adhesion and is not easy to peel off during stamping and welding.

It can be applied to automotive parts (body structure, bracket), home appliance housing (air conditioning panel, washing machine box), building materials (roofing, cable tray) and industrial equipment (shelves, distribution cabinets), etc.
