What is DC03 steel material grade?
DC03 is a cold-rolled low-carbon stamping steel with medium formability. It is a "balanced" material between the basic grade and deep drawing grade, and its performance is better than DC01/SPCC
chemical composition:
|
Carbon (C) |
≤0.08% |
Low carbon ensures good plasticity |
|
Manganese (Mn) |
≤0.45% |
Moderate strengthening to avoid work hardening |
|
Phosphorus (P) |
≤0.035% |
Strict control of impurities to reduce brittleness |
|
Sulfur (S) |
≤0.030% |
Low sulfur to prevent hot cracking |

Application of DC03 in the home appliance industry
DC03 steel performance:
Tensile strength: 270~380 MPa
Yield strength: ≤210 MPa
Elongation (A80mm): ≥34%
Better than SPCC, slightly lower than SPCD (elongation A50mm≥34%)
So it is used for:
Medium-complexity stamping parts: such as washing machine control panels, refrigerator door frames, and oven shells.
Parts that require slight stretching or bending (wider applicability than SPCC).

Will DC03 rust?
DC03 steel itself does not have anti-rust ability and will rust when exposed, so the bare plate needs to be rust-proof (spraying, electroplating).
DC03 parts that need rust prevention:
Refrigerator door frame (used after spraying);
Washing machine shell (internal reinforcement rib electroplating treatment);
Oven liner (high temperature resistant coating).
DC03 parts that do not need rust prevention:
Completely sealed bracket inside the appliance;
Structural parts in dry environment (such as internal fixing plate of air conditioner)
What is DC03 equivalent to?
The direct equivalent grades of DC03 are DC03 of China GB standard and CR3 of ISO standard; the similar substitute grades include SPCD of Japan JIS and A1008 CS Type B of US ASTM.
What is the difference between DC05 and DC03 steel?
DC03 is a general stamping grade, suitable for medium-complexity stamping; DC05 is a deep stamping grade, used for high-difficulty forming.
