Typical Applications of Q345
Due to its balanced performance, Q345 is a highly cost-effective structural steel, serving a wide range of industries:
Construction: High-rise steel structure frames, steel factory building columns/beams, seismic supports, and curtain wall supports.
Transportation: Bridge girders (Q345QD/E), ship decks/hull structures, container bodies (Q345NH), and truck frames.
Machinery: Booms and bases of construction machinery (excavators and cranes), and large equipment bases (such as machine tool beds).
Energy: Wind turbine towers (Q345D/E, low-temperature resistant), oil storage tanks, and oil pipelines (Q345 is often used for large-diameter welded pipes).

Usage Precautions
Material Selection and Environment Compatibility: Avoid using Q345A/B in low-temperature environments (e.g., below -10°C). Prefer Q345D/E to prevent low-temperature brittle fracture.
Welding Process: When welding thick plates (thickness > 20mm) or at low temperatures, preheat to 80-150°C and use matching welding rods (such as the E50 series, which matches the strength of Q345).
Subsequent Processing: After cold processing such as cold bending and punching, if the component is subjected to high stress, stress relief annealing is required to prevent stress concentration and cracking.
Corrosion Protection: Ordinary Q345 (such as Q345B) requires anti-corrosion treatment (painting, galvanizing) for outdoor use. For long-term exposure, Q345NH weathering steel is recommended. In summary, Q345 is a "universal structural steel" in the industrial field. Its core value lies in achieving lightweight structures with higher strength while taking into account processability and cost. The specific selection needs to be determined based on factors such as operating temperature, load requirements, and environmental corrosion (for example, Q345D is selected for outdoor use in the north, and Q345QD is selected for bridges).
