The carbon content of DC06 (≤0.02%) is much lower than the upper limit of low-carbon steel (0.25%), and it belongs to the category of ultra-low carbon steel. Its composition design is completely for extreme deep-drawing performance, not strength, and is suitable for medical devices, precision electronic parts and other scenes with strict requirements on formability.
What is DC06 steel equivalent to?
DC06 is the cold-rolled low-carbon steel for deep drawing with the best plasticity in the European standard (EN 10130). There is no exact equivalent grade. You can choose the closest material according to your needs. The closest performance is China 08Al (need to compromise on elongation), and the completely equivalent is DIN DC06 (same standard)
What is the difference between DC06 and DC01?
The carbon content of DC01 is ≤0.12%, the tensile strength of DC01 is 270 - 410MPa, and the yield strength is 140 - 280MPa. It is used in occasions where the stamping performance requirements are not high, such as ordinary mechanical parts, simple metal structural parts, general home appliance shells, etc.
The carbon content of DC06 is generally ≤0.008%, and the elongation after fracture is ≥41%. It has better plasticity and toughness. It is mainly used in the automotive industry to manufacture complex body parts, such as door inner panels, engine hood inner panels, side panels, etc.
What is the yield strength of DC06?
The yield strength of DC06 is 60~120 MPa (annealed), the lowest among deep drawing steels, and is designed for ultra-complex deformation.
