EN 10346: European standard that specifies requirements for continuously hot-dip coated steel sheet products.
ASTM A792/A792M: American standard for steel sheet coated with a 55% aluminum-zinc alloy by the hot-dip process.
AZ: Indicates aluminum-zinc alloy coating. 50: Refers to the coating mass, i.e. 50 grams per square meter (g/m²) on both sides of the steel sheet. The typical composition of the coating is 55% aluminum, 43.4% zinc, and 1.6% silicon.
AZ50 coatings offer good corrosion resistance, especially in environments where both aluminum and zinc are protective. Alu-zinc coatings provide a smooth, shiny surface that is aesthetically pleasing.
Due to the ductility of the coating, it is suitable for various manufacturing processes such as bending, roll forming, and stamping.
