A buyer in the UAE needed 409 tons of hot-dip galvanized steel coil in two strength grades. GNEE STEEL produced it, packed it, shipped it and followed it to Jebel Ali.

II. What it takes to handle an order this size
1. Mill capacity that is booked, not promised.
Large tonnage cannot come from stock. We reserve the production slot with a tier-one mill before the contract is signed. That is how the 30-day lead time held.
2. Two grades held apart, both to specification.
G350 is structural. G550 is high strength. They are not interchangeable and must not mix, so we keep them separated through production, packing and loading, and label every coil back to its own batch.
3. Inspection before the goods leave the mill.
Tensile and coating tests run at the mill, and the original mill test certificate travels with the documents. You can also send your own inspector or appoint SGS.
4. Packing that survives the sea.
Each coil is wrapped, strapped with steel banding and set on wooden dunnage, so edges never touch the hold floor or each other.
5. Documents that keep pace with payment.
With balance against a copy of the bill of lading, the document set has to be right the first time. We prepare it before the vessel sails.

III. How we shipped this order
Not every order fits in a container, and this one did not.
With 113 coils on one order, we shipped breakbulk from Shanghai rather than in containers. Every container transfer is another lift, and every lift is a chance to bend a coil. Loading straight into the hold removes two handling steps per coil.
The loading plan is drawn up before the vessel arrives:
Coils stood upright in rows, with the weight spread across the hold floor.
Wooden dunnage under every row, so steel never rests on steel.
Steel banding re-checked at the port before loading.
A moisture barrier fitted before the hatch closes.
Stowage arranged so the coils cannot shift at sea.
From Shanghai the vessel sailed to Jebel Ali with freight prepaid, and a clean on-board bill of lading was issued at the loading port. The documents went to the buyer as soon as they were released.
IV. Where large orders usually go wrong
Buyers bring us their bad experiences, and the story repeats:
1.Capacity was promised, not booked. The supplier quoted a volume they could not roll, then shipped late or in pieces.
2.The grades got mixed. G350 and G550 look identical on the outside.
3.Nobody inspected before loading. The argument started at the destination port, where it is expensive.
4.Packing was made for a truck, not a ship. The coil arrived bent or stained.
None of these are steel problems. They are process problems, and process is what we sell alongside the material.
V. Other grades we can supply
The two grades on this order are part of a wider range. If your drawing or standard asks for something else, tell us and we will match it.

One detail worth knowing: a G550 certificate does not always read 550 MPa. Under AS 1397 the guaranteed yield falls with thickness - 550 MPa at 0.9 mm and above, 495 MPa from 0.6 to 0.9 mm, and 413 MPa below 0.6 mm. The 1.5 mm coil on this order sits in the top band. If a supplier quotes you G550 at 0.5 mm without mentioning this, ask them to explain.
VI. Products that often ship with galvanized coil
Buyers rarely stop at one product. These are the items we supply most often alongside galvanized coil:
1.Galvanized steel sheet – flat and cut to length
2.Galvalume coil (Al-Zn coated) – for roofing and cladding
3.Prepainted galvanized coil (PPGI) – colour-coated, ready for panels
4.Corrugated galvanized sheet – roofing and wall profiles
5.Galvanized pipe and tube – round, square and rectangular
6.Galvanized C and Z purlins – light steel framing
7.Cold rolled coil – for painting or further processing
Order several together and they ship on one contract, which saves you freight and one more supplier to manage.
VII. What buyers tell us after the goods arrive
A shipment is not finished when the vessel sails. Here is what happens on our side after arrival.
We follow up to confirm the coils arrived as ordered.
If anything looks wrong, we ask for photos and the coil label, check them against the batch record, and reply within one working day.
Every coil carries a label linking it to its production batch and mill certificate, so a query never becomes a guessing game.
Most orders here start as a trial and end as repeat business.
Buyers are welcome to visit our office and mill before ordering, and many do.
We do not collect testimonials. We would rather you judged us on your own first order.

IX. Questions buyers ask us
1.Can we inspect before loading?
Yes. At the mill, with your own inspector or a third party such as SGS or BV.
2.What about after-sales?
Send us photos and the coil label number. We check them against the batch record and answer within one working day.
3.Get a quotation for your specification
Tell us the grade, size and tonnage, and the port you need it delivered to. We will confirm mill availability, a realistic lead time, and how the order will be packed and shipped.
