Deformation Trend Of Hot-dip Galvanized Workpieces

In the hot-dip galvanizing process, according to the deformation tendency of the workpiece, it can be roughly divided into the following three categories according to the type and characteristics of the deformation:

(1) Workpieces with low deformation tendency.

Such as hot-rolled angle steel, channel steel, I-beam, round steel, steel pipe and other sections or workpieces made of steel; corrugated plates, grating plates, and workpieces whose structural units are thick steel plates (δ ≥ 16.00 mm), etc.

(2) Workpieces with medium deformation tendency.

Thin-walled reels, thin-walled long tubes, workpieces with asymmetric distribution of welds in the structural unit and large differences in material thickness between adjacent parts, workpieces with medium-thick steel plates (δ=8.00~16.00 mm) as the structural unit, etc.

(3) Workpieces with high deformation tendency.

This type of workpiece has a very large deformation ability. There is often a large deformation in the manufacturing process before zinc immersion. If it is zinc immersed, the deformation amount will be further increased.

For example, workpieces with relatively large appearance specifications and structural units of thin steel plates (generally referring to plate structural parts with δ ≤ 8.00 mm or less. The shape and surface area of the workpiece have a great influence on the performance of hot-dip galvanizing), such as patterned plates, thin Platforms composed of steel plates and shaped steel frames, as well as other workpieces with long specifications but extremely asymmetrical cross-sectional shapes, etc.
